What to do after you just posted (and the truth about ass lickers)

I found myself in a situation when I can help to my new followers and the most of them want to learn and stay on Steemit. They want to get followers and rewards in order to get more Steem Power and influence over the network. Some wanted to know how to make as more as it's possible from one post. So, after you posted, what you can do to promote your post and increase the views?

Honestly, I hate self promotion!

I never had an ultra-violet GIF with Follow Me words shinning and sparkling in thousand colors. I never asked anyone for an upvote, I just wrote my things here and submitted a story and that was all magic for me to get the followers.

First I will tell you about the "PROMOTE" button on the bottom of the post that you just posted.

You can put some SBDs in promotion and you will find your post on the "PROMOTED" page but it totally doesn't pay off at the moment. No, at the moment it is not smart to promote your posts that way. But always check those posts on that list because things could change.

So, after you just posted, you can stay on Steemit and wait for the first upvotes or try to lick some "whale's" ass through the comments, or you can promote you content on other networks!

Never forget that everybody can see your post, even those who are not registered Steemit users. So, if you share your link on some other network, you can attract new users to Steemit, if they are interesting to read what you just linked to them! There are not a lot choices on Facebook, the most of Facebook accounts are closed and only their friends can see their posts.

So, if you want to promote your post through Facebook, consider to join some of Facebook Steemit groups, for example Team Steemit and you can get some new followers using these groups.

You can use Twitter much better than Facebook to promote your posts.

You can follow a lot of Steemit users there, post links of your posts there and attract attention of new users. Everything about Steemit is more lively on Twitter than on Facebook.
You can use a lot of SteemTools of which some you know and some you still don't know and they could be useful for you. Probably the best thing for that is Steemit.chat and there you can find a room of your interest, share your content and send direct messages to other users who use this chat. I check it once every day, but there are a lot of people who spend much, much time there, AND THAT'S GREAT! If you have some question for someone, rather use chat than comments of the post.

You can attract the attention of some trail if you promote your posts on some of Discord Channels and that's the good way to get a lot of upvotes and great rewards. Didn't work for me, but maybe it could for you!

The truth is, everything is better than ass licking! When an user is toady, he can easy turn into dark side and posting links on comments of the other user's post can easily turn to spamming and trolling. Never write things that wants to hear. Do not try to adjust your posts to someone with a lot of Steem Power in order to get his upvote. Always write what you think that you need to write, no matter what will others think about it! It's better for me to get 50 upvote from real users that 200 from bots, and there are still a lot of bots here. It's better to get reward of 10$ from many users than 60$ from the only one! Think about it! It's the matter of decency and respect. Thank you!
