Warren Buffett Says Buying Bitcoin Isn't Investing

“If you buy something like a farm, an apartment house, or an interest in a business… You can do that on a private basis… And it’s a perfectly satisfactory investment,” said Buffett. “You look at the investment itself to deliver the return to you. Now, if you buy something like bitcoin or some cryptocurrency, you don’t really have anything that has produced anything. You’re just hoping the next guy pays more.”

He added: “You aren’t investing when you do that. You’re speculating. There’s nothing wrong with it. If you wanna gamble somebody else will come along and pay more money tomorrow, that’s one kind of game. That is not investing.”

I think what he trying to say is that all stocks in market is not investing, It is speculating that you will earn more! Same as with every stocks of company have, right?

In what I have Understand, investment is gamble itself. Risk of losing it will never be taken away and that is always part of an investment. Speculation is always related to investment, wither that's long term or short term.

One thing I have to say, All crypto are all subject for high volatility. Even tether who claim to be 1:1 with USD dollar fail to do so.!

Always invest what you can afford to loss. This is what investment is, Even if you see 80% profit and 20% loss, still that is a gambling because that profit percentage calculation is still based on speculation.
