The former commander of space forces and missile deterrent in America, the United States currently possesses technology that allows the production of long-range neutron beam.

"This allows for a narrow neutron beam moving seven times faster than the speed of light in the vacuum," retired general David Mann said in a statement to Breaking Defense. The technology includes a production unit consisting of a neutron beam generator, a target-oriented system and an energy source.

The neutron beam is likely to be used to detect nuclear guidance units from among the phantom enemy ballistic missile units. The neutron beam beam interacts with uranium and plutonium, leading to the emission of gamma rays monitored by the ballistic missile system.

The general added that the neutron beam could be used if the generator's ability to destroy the electronic components of the enemy's equipment was increased, as was the destruction of enemy missile warheads.
