Circumcision of the heart

As they were preparing to enter the promised land, Moses trained the Israelites to circumcise the prepuce of their souls. He gave this guideline so they would never again be tenacious. For what reason did Moses discuss their stiff necked attitude just before entering the promised land?

Any individual who has perused the Old Testament story of Israel's adventure from Egypt to the promised land, will comprehend why Moses advised the Israelites about their willfulness! The key lesson in Moses cautioning, is in the reason behind their hardheadedness, disobedience, and failure to comply with God's edicts. Their hearts were solidified and uncircumcised. The uncircumcised heart alludes to the unregenerate human soul, which by it's extremely nature, is defiant, and unfit to live by God's will.

As a general rule, the Israelites could do nothing about their solidified hearts, since that was the dissatisfaction of the law. The law couldn't change their hearts. Moses was speaking prophetically about the new animals God would make in Christ.

The Apostle Paul said "But a Jew is one internally, and circumcision involves the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His acclaim isn't from man but from God" (Rom. 2:29 ESV). When you got Christ, the Spirit of God circumcised your heart, as He reproduced another soul inside you. You can keep God's precepts, since you were circumcised, not with human hands, but rather by the Spirit of God!

Would you be able to consider any other person in the Old Testament who talked prophetically about the production of another heart in us? (Ps. 51:10). Pronounce that "My heart has been circumcised by the Spirit of God, and I get a kick out of the law of the Lord".

How does the sacred text above apply to you? You were the satisfaction of what Moses requested that the general population do. Christ as of now circumcised your heart!
