Hello Steemians @steemchurch community, today I will be sharing with us a power and life changing topic that we can't live without in our Christian life and I pray that you will be blessed by it .
The Bible tells us we are in a war, and our adversary, Satan the devil, is bent on destroying us. The apostle Paul warns us to beware of Satan’s devices and tactics ( 2 Corinthians 2:11 ). How can we defend ourselves from his stealthy and deadly attacks?
(Ephesians 6:10-12)"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places."
Paul addressed this in Ephesians 6:10-20 where he talks about putting on the whole armor of God. Ephesians was one of Paul’s letters written from prison. During Paul’s time in prison he obviously became well acquainted with the armor worn and carried by his captors in the Roman army.
The Bible says “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”
Spiritual battle needs to be dealt with spiritually and not physically and we need our to this.
THE BELT OF TRUTH
Symbolically, to wear the belt of truth means that you have to be founded and rooted in God's Word. This is your important piece of armor as a Christian.As believers, we all encounter trials and obstacles from time to time,
time to time, and we are to be ready at all times.
BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
“Having put on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:14).
The breastplate provided protection against the unexpected blow,The enemies of the Christian described in these verses are numerous, and could come at us unexpectedly. Paul lists “arguments,” “every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God” and the need for “bringing every thought into captivity.” These are things we can encounter in everyday life. The breastplate of righteousness is one of our primary defenses against these unexpected and dangerous intrusions.
How important is the breastplate of righteousness? God promises great rewards to those who follow the path of righteousness: “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the unfaithful will be caught by their lust” (Proverbs 11:4-6).
THE SHIELD OF FAITH
As believers, we walk by faith. And it is through faith in God that we can believe for the impossible things, hope for better days, and believe in faithfulness of God's word and promise
Without faith, all schemes of the enemy will hit us.The oil symbolizes the anointing of God. Our faith must come with God's anointing through prayer and worship.
THE HELMET OF SALVATION
The helmet protects the head. And symbolically, to put on the helmet of salvation means to protect our mind from the enemy.Therefore, when your mind is clouded with negativity, confusion and lack of vision for the future, put on the helmet of salvation.
Symbolically, a Christian's salvation can cause the people to notice in his or her transformed lifestyle and character.
SWORDS OF THE SPIRIT
Lastly, we have the sword of the Spirit. Jonas Clark said that the sword of the Spirit is "the anointed word of God."
When we draw out the sword from the belt (of truth) by speaking out the Word of God, we are spiritually slicing off the wicked spirits.
(Hebrews 4:12)For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
