The reality of God's voice (His Word) and His willingness to speak to man is clearly stated in the scripture. The Bible is full of 'God said' from the beginning to the end.
Note the following from the scripture :
God speaks at various times especially to you either you know it or not
God speaks in various ways therefore, you cannot either traditionalize or stereotype how He speaks.
It's important and compulsory for every believer to be able to hear, recognize and distinguish God's voice in other to facilitate their walk with God.
The Objective of this study is to look into how and when does God speaks so that you can be sure enough to listen to hear Him speak.
Age, sex, spiritual experience is not a barrier to hearing God. (1Sam3:4-11, Jer1:4-6). God speaks to adults e.g Moses, Elijah, Abraham etc. God speaks to the formless earth and it heard His voice. Lifeless things can hear His voice (John11:43-44).
Note : If God can speak to non living things, then He can speak to you. God knows how important communication is, in a relationship. So He commune often with Adam in the garden of Eden.
WHEN DOES GOD SPEAKS?
God speaks at various times especially whenever He knows we need a word from Him or when ever we really want Him to speak. (Heb 1v1).
The sad thing is that we have a wrong believe that some set of people such as pastor, leaders, prophet etc are the only means to hear God, this is wrong. God intends to speak to everybody at various times. Another problem is that we do not know when to listen out to Him.
Let's us look out some instances when God speaks:
God speaks when you need to know His Will. Psalm 32v8
When you to make a defense. Mat10v19-20
When He want you to repent.
When you need to take a decision, God's speaks. Act10v20
When you need revelation about a secret thing. Daniel 2v19
When He want to keep you from destruction.
When you need to remember something. John14v26
He speaks, when you want to travel. Act16v6-20
He speaks when you need directions
God speaks when you need consolation and comfort.
