Proverbs 23:7a (KJV)
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..."

Galatians 6:3 (GNV)
If someone thinks he or she is somebody when really they are nobody, they are only deceiving themselves.

Reading from the first scripture downward, we would find out that our life as a whole, is shapened by our thoughts. Our life would generally go in the direction of our thoughts pattern.
What do you think about?
Do you always think about negative situations, disappointments and failures? Or you think about positivities and success? Remember there is much power in our thoughts as much as there is in our words.
Our thoughts form our words , our words our actions and our actions form our habits and our habits eventually form our character.
But then,
How are thoughts formed?
Our thoughts are mostly formed from what we see and what we hear. Negative environments naturally groom negative thinking pattern. If you're always being called a failure, you'll start to think and eventually act like one.
How do I change my thought pattern?

  1. Change what you see/read. Study good books. Study the word of God. Meditate on it. For there you will really see who you are and your life will gradually go in that direction.
  2. Change your environment if possible.
  3. Surround yourself with positive people and listen to good messages.

What if negative thoughts come?
Flush them out immediately and deliberately think of good things. Dwell daily on God's words.

What then do I think about?
In conclusion brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
Philippians 4:8.
