The Power of our Mind

Proverbs 23:7

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...”

Just like a baby comes out of the mother's womb head first, you can come out of any confinement head first. Many people are trapped in the miry clay of challenges just because their head is trapped in it. When your head is trapped in any mess, it will be very difhcult to come out of it. But if you get your head out of it, it does not matter how much of it is left in it, you are out already! The prodigal son who wandered away from his own father to a far country, having received the portion of the inheritance that was his, didn't have to change his garment to be another person. He only needed to get his head out of the mess he had put himself. He came to himself, and immediately knew what to do to go back home. When your head is straightened out as to any issue or matter of life, you already have the victory overthat matter.

The Bible tells us something very profound about the mind. It says every man is exactly as he thinks in his heart. It is your thinking that shapes your life and destiny. You cannot be better than the quality of thoughts you accommodate upstairs. When you think in line with the Word of God, your life will exude the richness and blessedness of the Word. The mind is so powerful an agent of transformation that it sets your limit orfreedom.

Proverbs 23:7 says ”For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...” which means you are exactly the character of your mind. You cannot rise beyond your own thoughts and imagination. it is therefore imperative to let the Word of God help renew your mind. Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

These passage tells us that our transformation from glory to glory is by the renewing of the mind. Romans 8:66 tells us that to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace, which means that what you mind will determine whether or not you live or die. Beloved, there is tremendous power in the mind. Use it to your advantage; use it in your favour. Begin to carefully select your thoughts in meditation. Anything and everything that is inconsistent with the Word must not be allowed to trickle down into your ‘inner consciousness. Be deliberate and strategic about your meditation. Start accommodating thoughts that will make you the dream you in years to come.
