SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT - A REQUISITE FOR SMOOTH CHRISTIAN JOURNEY

The word "Empowerment" is the granting of one, power and permission to use it legally. It could be social, political, economical or most especially - spiritual; a state of being empowered.

The height of your power is determined by the one who granted you, the purpose and the kind of power you operate in (which include your sphere of operation).

You been empowered is standing in the position of power to do something for a specific purpose.

Power is only power when it has the ability to produce result.

The truth is that every one on earth is empowered even from the womb. We are endowed with our uniqueness.

THE SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT

On the other hand, spiritual empowerment is a more technical approach (in the realm of the spirit).

The possession of supernatural/spiritual power is with spirits or spirit beings.

The Bible refers to angels as "ministering spirits" and they are spiritually empowered for their specific purposes.

The kind of power you possess defines your (who you are, what you are and where you belong to).

BELIEVING BIRTHS SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT

So now we understand that power in the realm of the spirit is possessed by spirits.

John chapter 1 tells us that for those who believe in Him, God gave them power to become sons of God.

"Behold I give thee power to trample upon serpents..."

That's why a Man with power is highly respected. He's esteemed for what he carries.

As believers who are carriers of the Holy Spirit, we move with this authority (which is God's very own power; His glory). God is the one who possesses all power.

Jesus said "all powers have been given unto me". This power Is the Holy Spirit. He is the power of God. In His absence, we walk in emptiness.

It's not only about possessing the power, but how it's being managed. The demonstration and management of power is something that is harnessed with time.
Let's do a simple:

Power + sin = fallen state of man and fallen angels

Power + the Word = glory

That's latter equation describes the life of a believer while the former lacks the word which in turn, breeds sin.

If the Holy spirit is in you.. you have been spiritually empowered. You must see the Holy Spirit as a person, not a smoke of power or a liquid or an anointing oil to be able to articulate this power.

We must learn to partner with him and build our communication with Him. The power of God is limitless only if we know d move of the spirit at every moment.

The issue is not receiving power but releasing power. Ways to effectively go about that is
The baptism of the Holy Spirit and fellowshipping with the Spirit through active Faith in God's word, fervent prayers, effective intercessions, and fasting.

The understanding of what you have gives you the ability to use it well.

The baptism of the spirit releases the spirit upon you (the active power of God in you).

You shall receive power after the Holy spirit comes upon you. You become intoxicated by the Spirit of God (similar to that experience of taking strong alcohol). You are constantly working by the power of God.

In conclusion, the promise of the Holy Spirit which was manifested on the day of Pentecost reminds us that we cannot effectively play our roles as Christians if the Spirit of God is absent from our lives.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

As witnesses unto Christ, we must reflect His nature here on earth (by the influence of His Spirit under His power).
