We need to have reverence when we take the Bible, not read as if it were a newspaper, but consider the life that exists through those words.
"And sailing from Troas, we ran on the right path to Samothrace and, the next day, to Neapolis, and from there to Philippi, which is the first city in this part of Macedonia, and is a colony, and we spent a few days in this city, and on the sabbath day we went out of the gates, by the river, where it is customary to pray, and, seating ourselves, we spoke to the women who gathered there. "Acts 16: 11-13
We do not like to mitigate things, saying that we are going to find God only on the mountain, in that church or in the other. In fact, you can pray and find Him, in college, in employment, in the car. But we have to be aware that God marks meetings. It is not the place that is holy, but the one that is in the place. We can not talk about important things anywhere, anyway.
Place of prayer A place where we do not see anyone, we do not answer the phone. Where we are alone, to have divine revelations. In the face with our father. Do not enter into an intimacy, into an intensity in prayer, if we do not reserve ourselves. There are places where we surrender deeply. The fire of God in our lives will not consume us, but will consume our impurities. God wants us, in our own way, from the moment we imitate someone He does not find us, but he sees another person. That is why we have to be original in our prayers. Do not value the methods, but the one that gives the answers.
"Do not let your heart be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me, In my Father's house there are many dwellings, if it were not so, I would have told you, I will prepare a place for you, and when I go and prepare you place, I will come again, and I will take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also. "John 14: 1-3
Jesus came to prepare a place for the disciples, to be able to live in a place that we could not enter. He came to organize the fallen attitude of man, to want to do good and not achieve. My faith is not released when I apply force, but when I surrender the Word. God disciplines and exhorts us, to be able to endure when the promises come. The place that He prepared, is where we see the impossible come true, a place where everything is possible.
Whenever we pray we already have the answer we wanted to hear from God, but it is not always what He gives. Gideon was afraid and wanted to know if God was with Him, and prayed about it. The answer was: go to the middle of the enemies. Do not try to mediate God. Do not associate with people who intimidate you in worship! When the movement of the Spirit comes, God will be more interested in his excess than in his faults. It was not the excesses that broke the revivals, but the critics.
We must have balance, moderation, but it has things that run away from our rationing capabilities. We can not be the same as Eli, who when he saw Samuel's mother break in the presence, said he was drunk.
Freedom in the Spirit, is not our freedom to Him, but He is with us. Many times we will be directed to run, smile, dance. The things of the spirit are discerned spiritually.
Beware of your service to God, do not come to spoil your communion with Him.
We do not serve to be someone, but because we know who we are there if we serve. Things are going to improve, not because you deserve, but because he loves you. A man does not stand up if the Lord does not hold.
