The crusade this time took a new dimension, the power of God moved mightily in the midst of God's people. Bro John was filled with the Holy Ghost. Sinners were saved. We all thank God for the outcome of the crusade.
The following Sunday the whole cHurcH was filled to the brim to witness one more time the power of God, God didn't disappoint as Bro John climbed the pulpit to dish out the word of God with signs and wonders following.
After the service ended, the church council sat down to account for everything, souls that gave there lives to Christ, money realized, what is needed next in church. Bro John stood up right there to tell the church council he will be in need of some money to go for a personal retreat. The council couldn't say no, they gave him.
The Church was filled as usual the next week and the spirit of God moved as before, after the service it was time to count the church offering, the head usher of the church made it known that Bro John has collected 60% of the offering. The council brought this issues to him but instead of him to tell them what he wants to do with the money, Bro John ended up taking the church council through various verses of the scriptures that talks about obedience and loyalty to the priest in charge, the council got the message and left. They all knew this was wrong but who are they to talk.
During the midweek service, it was noticed that the power of God is the midst of his people has reduced, the Prayer warriors put up a meeting, they word of the Lord came,
"Take heed, lest he fall "
The pastor was told of this, he told them maybe there is someone among them who is sining. They couldn't face the pastor anymore. In a months time, the spiritual atmosphere of the church has changed to nothing.
For the last time the church council walked up to bro John, he himself knew things weren't right anymore so he confessed to a sin of fornication. The elders couldn't believe there ears as they listen to the horrible downfall of a once powerful man of a God.
He was adviced to sought for God again, bro John left the church of God and was never seen again. The next Sunday some people were seen parading the church compound, when asked what they were looking for they told the church council that bro John has sold the church property to them.
