What is Steem Basic Income?

Before I get onto the topic for the contest I quickly want to explain what Steem Basic Income is. From the @steemitbasicincome blog:

Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
So basically I will sponsor the winners with share/s in Steem Basic Income and they will receive ongoing upvotes on their posts from SBI - a great way to motivate and encourage minnows to keep on Steeming!

This weeks contest

To enter this contest, imagine you woke up tomorrow and checked your Steemit wallet and you had 10K SP (A healthy dolpin!). Write an original post outlining what you would plan to do with this SP (around $23,000 USD). There are numerous ideas such as powering down (no judging here! $23k is life changing to some people!), go full time on Steem, delegate or start your own bot are just a few ideas

If I was a dolphin I would...

The first thing I would consider and think about would be my own financial situation and whether powering down some of the SP would be helpful. We are now unemployed for the next 3 months, and about to start travelling Europe - as you can imagine this will be expensive (more than we can realistically afford!) So in all honesty I would probably power down about 2k, which would fund the majority of the trip/pay for the debt.

As I mentioned in a previous post I am starting to look at delegating Steem Power, so this would be where the majority of the SP would go. I would probably delegate the majority of the Steem Power over the summer months as I don't have the time to put into Steem over summer. I would look at delegating a decent portion to community bots that have been supportive of me and support the community and the rest into something that would generate some passive income for me (I would still be very selective about this, and who I delegate to).

After summer I would un delegate some of my Steem power, and then spend a lot more time manually curating good content, and supporting people who are new to Steem find their feet. With the extra SP I would still upvote my own posts, but I have never and will never upvote my own comments!

So what would you do?

Contest rules and fine print

To enter the contest, as I mentioned you just need to write a post outlining what you would do if you had 10k Steem power - use the tag #ifiwasadolphin so I can find your posts. Feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below! I will do my best to upvote all entries (depending on VP, and how many entries there are!).
After the payout of this post I will select the winner/s and provide a summary post with links to the winners so they can gain some more exposure.

Upvoting and resteeming this post isn't required will help build the prize pool.

Prizes

I will start the prize pool with 5 Steem Basic Income shares, spread across the winners, but, at my discrepancy will increase the prize pool if I get significant payouts from this post 4 Basic Income Shares will be spread across those who write posts, and 1 share will be offered to a random person who Resteems this post!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to reading your blogs!
