Reality TV Show Fans: Place Your Bets!

Are you a fan of Reality TV? Do you like to pick who the winner is, or pick who won’t win? Why not back up your picks, with your Bitcoin? I've looked for DApps/sites on the Steem Blockchain, but haven't found any. If you know of any, or are interested in helping to create one, for Steem Betting, let me know!

Betmoose (https://www.betmoose.com/?ref=anonabull) is a site that allows you to make bets on anything from entertainment to politics, to whatever. You can create an account, if you wish. However, you are entirely able to place bets anonymously!

This will be the first of many posts I will be making, regarding Betmoose, and reality tv betting.

There are a lot of reality shows in China, India, USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Philippines, Germany, France, Thailand, and the UK. Obviously, there are more nations that these, that have reality shows. These are just the ones that I’ve chosen. If you want to place wagers on a reality show from a nation not listed, you can research the data yourself, and host it on Betmoose, or elsewhere. Or, you can PM me, and maybe, if enough people ask, I’ll consider it.

So, what sort of shows are listed? Currently, just to name a few, include Survivor, The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, and Idol. There are more when you visit Betmoose (https://www.betmoose.com/?ref=anonabull). If the show isn’t listed, and it’s in one of the above nations, then it’s not running yet, or upcoming. Since I can’t have a bet running for players who I don’t know, they’re not up yet.

Note: I know there may be sources out on the (Deep?) web that have spoilers or “insider information.” I cannot track every source out there. I assume bets are made in “good faith.” Remember to only “bet what you can afford to lose.”

One of Betmoose’s requirements is to have a way to publicly verify the outcomes of bets. It should be obvious that watching the shows will provide the winners. Then, there are official sites and social media accounts. I include some of the less “official ways” to track results, ranging from Wikipedia, to “entertainment news sites.” These are also a way for people who didn’t get to catch the initial airing of the shows to check results of the bets’ outcomes.

Keep in mind, that not all shows may have had a readily listed end time, at the time of posting. So, using information from past seasons serves to as a guess as to the end times for each season. Thus, bets can be ended early, if a season ends early.

Since some shows bring back people at random intervals, sometimes called “twists,” just because someone has been eliminated, doesn’t mean they are “gone for good.” Not all shows do this. However, for simplicity’s sake, since many shows in multiple countries can end around the same time frame, I’ve chosen the outcome periods to be at the end of the season, so that all bets can be resolved. This may change, as the shows go on, based on betting volume. When a “no winner” is resolved, and it is a show that hasn’t had a history of bringing back eliminated players, they may be resolved at the time the outcome is known.

Why Betmoose? It’s the only predictive betting site on the web, that I know of, that allows for the betting of tv shows, where the rank’s ok. Fairlay has a lot of categories, but no entertainment/tv. At this writing, Augur seems to be down, as they upgrade to Ver2. I think something like this may be possible on Steem, but haven’t seen a site or Dapp that does this. If anyone knows of one (or more), or would like to (help) develop/promote “Predictive Steem Betting,” let me know!
