Could Steem Leasing from Minnowbooster.net be profitable?

In the example in the Picture, we have a 28.8% APR. Leasing for longer is more profitable because the delegator needs to wait one week before he'll be able to delegate again and that's factored in the price. So longer Lease = better.
So if we pay 12 Steem to get 150 SP for 12 weeks we should be able to gain 12 Steem in the 12 weeks we have.
Right now 150 SP gives a 0.03 SBD Upvote.

• 0.015 SBD + 0.01 that's if you vote yourself in the first seconds of your post.
• Do that 11 times a day 0.165 SBD + 0.11 SP per day.
• Per week that's 1.115 SBD + 0.77 SP.
• For 12 Weeks that's 13.86 SBD + 9.24 SP.
• Steem = 1.541 SBD that means we have made : 8.994 SP + 9.24 SP = 18.234 SP.
  So we paid 12 Steem and can potentially win 18.234 SP back from it. Note that this is the MAX that you can ever gain. ( One small exception )

There are more than 1600 Leases that are active and Minnowbooster is not the only one leasing steempower. Blocktrades has it too. But with an APR of more than 40%.
But do people really lease SP to vote themselves? in most cases no. What are they doing with it then?
One big thing: CURATION.
Steembottracker.com is a very good website if you just into profits there is an option there to check what are the posts with the biggest bids and smallest actual payout right now. So that you can outrun the bots.

you can reach it under tools --> front run the bots.

As you can see there is an Author: cookntell that have a bid of 20 SBD and that will soon get an upvote. ( it's not 100% sure but euh it's like close to that )
Of course, you are not a sell-out and you curate only original content and no plagiarism and spam. So you click on the post title and "read"/"scout" the articles for red flags. Seems ok and you decide to MAYBE upvote it. Then you realize there is a thingy in the picture too "Curation Per 1$ vote". Or how I see it: 0.82$/1$. That means if you upvote this article right now and everything goes smoothly you would get 82% from your upvote Value BACK as curation rewards.
As a comparison, you can sell your upvote in Smartsteem or minnowbooster for aproximately 40/50% SBD back.
Your upvote value is 0.1 SBD ---> you will get 0.045 SBD.
Wait WHAT curation can be more profitable than actually selling your vote? Yes, sometimes when you hit the right Author at the right time.

• The first curators that upvote a post ( after about 20-25 minutes min ) get the most curation rewards out of a post.
• Sometimes in Steembottracker you can even spot some post with more than 100% profit.
• Let's test it now with the example I gave. I have upvoted the post and waited for the upvote of the upvote bot.
• Curation rewards before the upvote from the bot :

  0.036 SP = 0.10$ = 0.53 SBD ( So if SBD was 1$ that's 100% upvote back ) but only 50% in SBD.

So I found another article but this time with 116% ROI.
0.05SP = 0.14$ dollars ( That's even more than 116% ROI )
So if you manage to get this amount with curation consistently.

• 0.05 x 11 Upvotes a day x 7 Days a week x 8 weeks = 30.8 SP --> BUT with my upvote power 500 SP
  

So is it profitable ? I used because I am very active in steemit and actively looking for content to curate or sell my votes ( But in a way to a loss since I could of used the vote to make profit ) So if you just want to make money you are better off with delegation or just buying steem to power up.
