As the informations as well as the options on Steemit.com are extensive and manifold I deceided to start this little series to break it down into smaller portions and to a more understandable level.
Steemit.com is a weppage where you can create Steem-Tokens (often synonymous called "Steem") by publishing posts or by curating (voting on) posts published by others.
Steem-Tokens are a unit of the cryptocurrency Steem.
A cryptocurrency is a virtual currency, but it is not really just virtual like many other virtual currencies distributed through nearly countless bonusprograms on www, it is palpable because it is generated by compute-operations, i.e. behind every created token there stands Hardware and Software generating the tokens in form of a calculating operation of a CPU or GPU or other chip (blockchain technology) - in case of Steem and Steemit even human-beeings creating and curating content and witnesses running the nodes (decentralized servers on which the Steem-Blockchain is stored).
I guess that is enough information to digest for today, right ?
The next part of this series will talk about the difference between Steem, Steem-Tokens, Steem-Power, Steem-Backed-Dollars (SBD) - so don't miss if you are not too clear about that differences or if you interested in if I got it right ;)
All Steemit-"nerds" and longtimers are welcome to comment, maybe even correct my thoughts and share their insight on the matter ;)
Thank you for taking the time reading through my little post and thank you for your brainpower using on it ;)
P.S. Everybody who resteems this post during first 5 days after publishing gets 0.001 SBD per 100 followers !
