Sorry for the delay of #steem-perfume project. I am very busy these past weeks and once again my deepest apology. By the way lets get started and continue what we have started. Our topic for the post is all about getting started.

Certain steps and methods are involved in the creation of all perfumes, whether your workbench is a kitchen table or a high tech perfumery laboratory. The methods are the same, only the surroundings are different.

Your starting point is the aroma - the fragrances you have always wanted to buy from the perfume counters in department stores, perhaps someone else's perfume or the original fragrance you want to create.

From this remembered or imagined fragrance, you proceed to choose the fragrance oils or essential oils you will use , which you will then blend with other mysterious ingredients you see listed on the labels of commercial perfume bottles. Don't worry. All these mysteriuos ingredients are available from chemical store or (I make it available exclusively just for you.) You will learn the proper blending procedures. Then it's a matter of filling and labeling your bottles.

The task of aroma selection is easy since you can choose from the wide range of fragrance oils inspired by commercially successful perfumes all over the world. You can also venture into making your own original perfumes by using a collection of essential oils, or by enhancing the fragrance oils with essential oils.

Other Important steps to consider:
First, you need to think of a name for your perfume. You need something catchy that's easy to remember and will evoke positive emotional response from your target market. For example #steem-perfume or even your name as your brand name.

Second, now that you have the name of your perfume, you need to design a label. It should be presentable. My advice it should reflect the name of your perfume or your logo to the label. For starters you can utilized free and open source software photo editor like GIMP to save a lot of money from buying a license.

Finally, you will need to choose a type of glass bottle for your perfume to put into. It should be presentable and looking good. In these industry the design matters.

Glasswares Needed
Glasswares or any stailess steel container is needed for mixing the fragrance oils and other essential ingredients. In these project I used glasswares instead of stainless steel containers. Why? Measuring made easy with glasswares. The basic glasswares needed in perfumery are graduated cylinder, beaker, erlenmeyer flask, glass stirrer, and amber bottles.

Graduated cylinder
10ml - used to measure the volume of the ingredients 10 ml and below
250ml - Used to measure the volume of ingredients exceeding 10 ml such as ethyl alcohol and water.

Beaker
Used in mixing. One can actually use any glass or stainless steel container for this purpose

Erlenmeyer Flask
Used in mixing. One can actually use any glass or stainless steel container for this purpose. However, this can help prevent the spillage.

Glass stirrer
This glass rod used is used in stirring the mixture.

Amber Bottles
Used in storage of perfumes for aging and chilling.
