Our Community
Our community of steem-cartoon is reaching approximately 3 months old and it has come a long way. Currently this tag has been achieving a stellar performance and we are quite proud of it. We gave it a thought and decided that we wanted to do a bit more for the community and we have the following planned.
Full Launch of Urban Sketching (Sketch Nation)
There is a sub community that is parked under steem-cartoon called Urban Sketching and we shall be taking active steps to move this sub community by having programs to educate people on what urban sketching is all about and there will be direct participation from existing urban sketchers into steem-cartoon. The current effort taken by @kymio includes outreach programs by inviting sketchers from around the world to showcase their work in the steemit platform.
Our Animation
For the very first time, we will unveil our mascot the Wo-owl in the form of an animation with a close collaboration with #steem-music an initiative led by @calebleejl. This animation is currently in progress and is undertaken by Sead Studios, an animation company that belongs to @rambai and @aurah both members of steem-cartoon. The very first launch of this animation shall be unveiled live to the public at a date that shall be announced soon.
Teammalaysia Junior
We were all young once. We remember our cartoons and we remember our comic heros. There is nothing more exciting than seeing the people who brings those characters to live. In conjunction with the workshop that will be held by @elizacheng, members of steem-cartoon will put their fullest support behind this initiative to start a group for the young talents.
Our artists will be directly engaging the younger crowd to entertain them and at the same time inculcate some basic drawing techniques and interest. We hope that with this direct engagement, it will inspire them to draw more, be more imaginative and let go their handphones for one moment and engage in more beneficial activities.
Our Own Workshop
We will be organising our own workshop and the details are currently being ironed out. This workshop shall cover 3 major aspect of drawing and it will include 3 major area the cartoon/animation industry whereby @sireh will be conducting a masterclass on the art of caricaturing, @rambai will be explaining on animation and its process and finally one of Malaysia's best colorist @aurah will be presenting his skill in speed painting and disseminating this knowledge on how speed painting can be done.
Most of @aurah's speed painting works can be seen in his initiative of virtual landscape painting and pinning it on steemitworldmap, an initiative by @martibis.
Our Roadmap
We believe that our roadmap will be a long and adventurous one and we are more than willing to share it with aspiring artists or whoever who takes interest in the programs offered by #steem-cartoon. Again, we reiterate that without the support that we have been receiving particularly from @sndbox and #teammalaysia, it would have been quite challenging to achieve what we are enjoying today. But again, we haven't forgotten our friends that were with us from our inception #ocd and #steemiteducation. Lets hope to achieve more this year.
