Last night, President Donald Trump gave his state of the union address for the first time. Trump pointed out 2.4 million new jobs, increases in wages, lower unemployment, expansion in the auto industry, tax cuts, and all time highs in the stock market.
The truth?
The State of the Union has nothing to do with the state of your union.
Let’s face it, you don’t see a net benefit to any of these numbers. Want proof? Look at your bank account, count the number of assets you own, and total up your annual income. Tax cuts, new jobs, decreased unemployment, and stock market gains have not and will not help you. President Trump cannot help you. The Federal Government cannot help you. The only one that can help you is you.
How many hours did you spend on personal development last year? The sad fact is that the average American reads 5 or less books per year. Compare that to the amount of time spent watching reality tv, the news, movies, playing video games, and focusing on things that have no positive effect on your finances whatsoever. Spend time on personal development above all things.
How much did you increase your income last year? From 2015 to 2016 the average American only increased their income by $1842 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That’s $153.50/mo. Inflation average at an increase of $1814. That means you only beat inflation by $28. Your income needs to increase to the point that you can beat inflation, pay your taxes, save 40% of your pre-tax income, & possess a good standard of living. Anything less than this is not success.

If you’re like most people, you spend time with the same people year after year. Your friends and family haven’t changed and you spend virtually all of your time with them. There’s nothing wrong with friends and family, but there are 7 billion people in the word. It is your responsibility to know as many of them as possible and to help as many of them as possible. You can’t make in impact on the world when you spend your social time “having a beer with the boys”. Set giant goals
Have a written, mathematical formula
Seek coaching and accountability
Learn daily
Expand your network like crazy
Increase your income
Keep as much of your income as possible (40% or more) in a sacred investing account
Invest in real assets that produce passive income
