STACH SHORT STORY CONTEST: Sophia's Flute

Sophia's birthday was here and she didn't want to celebrate because she was still mourning her mother. But I convinced her that the outing would be good for her. While Sophia was growing up, her mom always played the flute to rock her to sleep. So Sophia carried it everywhere because it reminded her of her mother.

The outing was supposed to be a surprise party, but Sophia's boyfriend, Jerry and my boyfriend, Daniel were running late. As we got to the club, some men offered to buy us drinks but unknown to us, they slipped pills into our drinks. Slowly we started losing it. They took us to the back of the club. Sophia's flute fell out as they carried us.

Jerry and Daniel didn't find us when they arrived. After so much descriptions to the bartenders, they pointed at the direction they felt the men might have taken us. As they rushed to the back of the club, Jerry stepped on my flute and then he knew the way to take. They got there just in time to save us.

Jerry and Daniel helped us up. Turning to Sophia, they said,

'Your flute helped us find you.'
