Imran Awan and Hina Alvi Seeking Immunity Deal

Reports of an immunity deal between Imran Awan and Hina Alvi with the DOJ in exchange for testimony against members of congress is said to be in the works.

Hina Alvi has already left the United States and is believed to be in Pakistan while Imran was apprehended at Dulles airport attempting to flee the country and has appeared in court to faces charges of bank fraud.

The legal teams for Imran Awan and Hina Alvi are close to finalizing immunity deals with the Justice Department that could spare them jail time in exchange for testimony against sitting members of Congress, federal law enforcement sources said.

FBI sources familiar with the case said late Friday that Imran Awan’s legal counsel was “deep in the process” of structuring an immunity deal for himself and his wife with Justice Department lawyers. The deal would allow the couple to freely testify against any or all Democratic lawmakers they worked for as IT specialists, including Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

True Pundit reported on Thursday that the couple was working on a plea deal to avoid prison time. But on Friday federal sources said those talks had progressed into a likely immunity deal for the duo.

The focus of the federal probe has shifted from the bank fraud allegations against the Pakistani couple to classified intelligence breaches in Congress, FBI sources confirm.

George Webb has filed several motion to intervene in the case on behalf of the American people and on the grounds of national security. He provided the court with what he believes to be a mountain of evidence against Imran Awan and Hina Alvi that implicates the two as part of a spy-ring that has penetrated the US congress. As such, the espionage act would be applicable and would supersede any immunity deals reached in this case and, if proven, would extend to the case of Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner and Hillary Clinton's State Department.

Webb believes that the prosecution in the case is working hand-in-hand with the defense in order to make sure that Imran Awan gets off with a slap on the wrist and bury this case so that nothing more comes of it.
