Puntintseva smacks down Strycova, heads to Paris Quarters

The French Open on Sunday saw several Tennis stars in impressive form, one of which was Yulia Puntintseva of Kazakh origin.

The youngster showed off her best form as she went on to take down Barbora Strycova on Sunday in the fourth round of the match winning both sets at 6-4 6-3.

Puntintseva who is number 98 on the world rankings was on hand to display her wide range of shot-making skillsbreaking through Strycova two times in the games early exchanges.

She then went on to serve out the opening set about 52 minutes later. Strycova was making her first fourth-round appearance in Paris and found herself struggling to find her rhythm.

She ended up spraying the court with a number of errors as the 23 year old Kazakh youngster raced quickly to a 4-1 lead.

However, the next game saw Puntintseva drop her serve. Still yet, she was on hand to do just about enough to ensure a victory, striking off a late challenge from Strycova
