The defending champion has so far gotten to 12 finals in the Halle open and is looking to grab his 10th win of the competition.

Assuming he wins, it will also be his 19th grass-court title. As such, that will now push him up further, to make it the 99th title since he started out his career.

With a win, Federer will be assured of clinging onto his world No. 1 ranking.

To get here, Federer battled past Denis Kudla, American qualifier to end the game at a 7-6(1), 7-5 scoreline. It’s now the 20th time in a row the Swiss has won a match on the grass court.

Just two more wins and Federer will equal an all-time record set by Jimmy Connors with 174 grass court victories.
