Mario Balotelli according to Italy head coach, Roberto Mancini, is open to be chosen as the captain of the team. The Italian netted the lead in the 21st minute during their 2-1 victory in the friendly against Saudi Arabia on Monday, which restored Mancini's faith in him.
The 27 year old hit out at a banner that contains the statement "my captain has Italian blood", showcased during the match that seemed to have been organized for the striker.
Mancini then made known that he would not dive away from his plan of making the Nice forward and said he would not hold his captain in the nearest future.
The coach further explained to Use media that in a team, the captain is mostly the man with the most caps, however, if Balotelli could have the most caps, then he would be worthy of the captain band.
Italy will be meeting France on international friendly by 8pm GMT+1 today, with the appearance of the striker to be decided later today.
