Sead Kolasinac out for 10 weeks

It's another bad news for Arsenal as full back Sead Kolasinac is injured and is out for about 10 weeks, the club confirmed.

Kolasinac signed for Arsenal only last summer on a free transfer from FC Schalke. He had a great start to the season before being benched by Arsene Wenger. Things just didn't work for him after that. He did play after that but never looked like the same guy.

Now after Wenger's departure, Kolasinac featured in a lot of preseason games and it did look like Emery would play him more. But just days before the start of the season, Kolasinac is injured. It's a terrible news for Arsenal fans, as left back is the position Arsenal don't have a lot of depth in.

Nacho Monreal is the first choice, but him just coming back from the post World Cup holiday, it is highly unlikely that he will start the game against Manchester City. That brings Arsenal to Ainsley Maitland-Niles, the only option left. Not a natural left back, but he has done considerably well for Arsenal in that position last season. Especially against Liverpool last season, Niles did a great job to contain Mohamed Salah.

It is unlikely that Arsenal will invest in a left back this transfer window, but with Kolasinac's injury problems and Monreal aging as well, Arsenal should give that a thought.
