Tottenham faced Wolves after draw against Chelsea last week. Kick off time for match was 12:30 like it was Sunday League and not Premier League game. I don't understand the fact that Premier League can't negotiate with TV broadcasters better kick off time on Saturday like 20:45 instead that of 12:30. 12:30 is just against biorhythm of players.
All what Tottenham did in shocking first half was one cross by Ivan Perisic toward Harry Kane near the end, but Wolves goalkeeper tipped it over crossbar. There was one ball from corner which fell inside the box, but no one was able to put it inside the net. On the other hand Wolves made 10 attempts on goal, some of them went very close but just wide. It was very bad first half with Son completely absent from pitch just like Dejan Kulusevski. Sanchez who replaced Romero saved Spurs in couple of occasions, but made one big mistake near the end but Wolves failed to capitalize that.
I don't know what Conte told players in the dressing room, but that hair dryer speech woke up Kulusevski and entire team. In much better second half Tottenham had chances, Kane hit crossbar, Son hit post, Ivan Perisic took few corners and we suddenly looked like big danger for them. Then after Son's cross which went in front of first post, Ivan sent ball with head on back post where Harry Kane tricked defender and ran alone on the ball for easy tap in! It was his 185th goal in EPL and all of those goals he scored in one shirt - Tottenham's. It was also his 250th goal . He is alone on number 4 of all time goal scorer list with Andy Cole on 3rd with 187 goals.
Ivan Perisic had another moment of magic when he dribbled couple of Wolves players, storm inside the box, had good chance to make a shoot, but he decided to pass but it didn't came to Tottenham player, was cleared and chance gone. This is only moment when Ivan could do better. His game was just superb. He will be very big reinforcement for Tottenham.
There was one more situation in which Emerson sent ball toward two team mates inside the box, but both of them decided for some reason to run toward same spot near goal and ball went behind them. If you ask me it's not Emerson's but their fault. One should go forward and one wait and give multiple opportunities for pass to team mate.
Sanchez cleared few dangerous balls coming inside. He also had good game. Son showed signs of life in second half. Made one good pass, had chance but didn't score and was substituted for Richarlison before end.
Good thing is we won this game, but performance from first half was for worry. Serious title contenders need to play good entire game and not limit themselves to only one half. Antonio said he adjusted tactics at half time. If that is truth I can ask why didn't he try that during first half ? Why is Son taking corners when doctor for corners Ivan Perisic is in squad ? He can't send ball over first defender. Way how Son took one set piece in first half when he sent ball in outside net near first post was disgrace. This guy need to think about his performances, because if he continues to play like this Richarlison will take over his spot in this squad. Some fans already want that to happen. I am not among them, but Korean must find his form.
