She's Not Playing In India

Switzerland's No. 1 junior squash player Ambre Allinckx has avoided traveling to India? Her parents have reportedly decided that India is unsafe for women and she's not competing in India. Sad! She's said to be her country's elite player in Squash (game played by two or four players who strike the ball with long-handled rackets).

This is not an isolated case. From the USA contingent also there's a member, who had been reportedly cautioned by her people back home that the short skirt that she wears, while playing, would attract the evil attention from Indian men.

While these fears may well be an over-reaction, there are studies – including the one by Canada's Thomson Reuters – that have put India as the most dangerous place for women in the world.

The 2018 World Junior Squash Championships, beginning from July 17, are underway in India's Chennai, with people from 28 nations coming for the event.
