1961/62 European Champion Clubs' Cup quarter-finals

This was the first European meeting between the sides and a sneak peek of what was to come, with Madrid and Juventus inseparable over two legs. Madrid star Alfredo Di Stéfano and Juve's Omar Sívori each scored on enemy territory, a replay in Paris was inevitable. Felo, Luis del Sol and Justo Tejada led Madrid into the semi-finals, where they knocked out Standard Liège before ultimately losing to Benfica in the final.

2002/03 UEFA Champions League semi-finals

This tie came when the clubs were in their respective golden eras, this was at the beginning of the millennium: the Brazilian Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos gave Madrid the win in the first-leg, however Juventus knocked out Real Madrid, with David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero and Pavel Nedvěd finding the back of the net, rendering Real Madrid's present coach, Zinédine Zidane's late goal mere consolation for the cup holders.

1997/98 UEFA Champions League final

After winning the first five European Cups, and ultimately adding a sixth in 1966, Madrid haf to wait for 32-years to reclaim the trophy. This was done at the expense of Juventus. Predrag Mijatović's close-range finish was the difference in a tight final in Amsterdam.

2014/15 UEFA Champions League semi-finals

This, till date is the last time Real Madrid tasted defeat in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, and it came from one of their own. Signed from Madrid the previous summer, Álvaro Morata scored in both legs. Juventus however lost to Barcelona in the final played in Berlin.

2016/17 UEFA Champions League final

Cristiano Ronaldo put Madrid ahead early on in the final played in Cardiff, but Mario Mandžukić's wonerful overhead kick levelled things before half-time. The cup holders emerged the winners, with Casemiro, Ronaldo and Marco Asensio finding the back of the net scoring, this ultimately ensured that Real Madrid became the first to retain the trophy in the UEFA Champions League era.
