This will be a first for sports arenas around the country. The Atlanta Hawks have announced a $192.5 million renovation to their arena...not for new suites...not for a new jumbo tron...for a 1500 sq ft LIQUOR BAR!
I get it...Not a bad idea for a team that will be rebuilding for the next few years. While the Hawks get lit up at their games the fans can ease their sorrows by getting lit themselves at this new bar with courtside view.
Arenas do have bars but not court side and with that type of view. The bar will be limited to the 600 court side season ticket holders and limited standing room only tickets to court side season ticket holders.
They are going to have to sell a lot of alcohol to make that $192 million back. But I guess at $25 for a Patron shot they should make that back quick. And wealthy court side season ticket holders surely have the cash for it.
This seems like it would be a cool date idea. As you know the girl will not have any interest in the game. So why not sit at the bar, get some drinks, and casually glare at the game...plus get scene as a high roller by 12,000 fans sitting in the cheap seats.
What do you think? Do you like this idea? Would you rather be sitting on the court or in the bar with a great view. For me I LOVE basketball. I would not leave my court side seat.
