Barcelona's Lionel Messi has posted a picture on social networking sites with his former Brazilian counterpart Neymar after the Catalan club filed a claim against the top scorer who moved to Paris Saint-Germain to claim financial compensation.
Messi commented on the picture that shows Neymar, who is moving to Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the match with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
Messi, who has been suspended in Barcelona last month, is expected to remain in Barcelona for a record amount of 222 million euros.
Neymar has also published a series of photographs of his former colleagues in Barcelona, such as Messi, Suarez and Pique.
In a statement on Tuesday, Barca said it was demanding a "refund of the amount it had already paid as a reward for renewing its contract (Neymar) for breaching the terms of the contract, 8.5 million euros in compensation and an additional 10 percent as interest."
Barca's move to avoid controversy with Neymar came two days after harsh comments from the latter against the club's management.
"We are not the people who should be in their positions," said Neymar, who scored two goals on Sunday night against Toulouse and his contribution to the 6-2 win at Park de France.
