Liga Champions UEFA

UEFA Champions League (UEFA Champions League) is an annual club soccer competition organized by European Union Football Associations (UEFA) and is followed by Europe's top division club. This competition is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, which is only followed by national league champions (and also second champions for several countries) from every UEFA member national association. UEFA Champions League Final is the most watched event in the world every year. The 2012-13 season finals are the most watched, with a total of 360 million television viewers. [1]

Introduced since 1992, this competition replaces the European Champions Cup or called the European Cup, which has been rolling since 1955, by adding the group stage to the competition and allowing the entry of several clubs from certain countries. [2]extra-Sport-Supersport.jpg

The championship was first coined by one of the French sports magazines. Trophy-shaped trophies nicknamed "The Big Ears" (Big Ears), and the first trophies are different from those now contested (made by Stadellman). The contested cup is now the 6th edition. Initially the championship won a trophy named the European Club Champion Cup or the European Champion Clubs' Cup, which is usually abbreviated to the European Cup (European Cup, and different from the European Cup as it is known in Indonesia today which refers to the European Championship). The championship started in the 1955/56 season with a two-leg knockout system, each team playing two games, one away and one at home, and the team with the highest average score progressing to the next round. Only the league champions in each country, plus the current champion holders, are eligible for the competition.
