My name it's Mihai and I love Airsoft, I hope it's here someone who like also this sport. Some people won't consider this like a real sport, but it is. You make a lot of effort to get hidden, to run your opponent, to run and find a good spot to stay hidden and don't get shot really fast.
Just play one time outside in the wood, or special places to see, and feel this sport. Every friend invited by me to test airsoft was almost 100% success rate, and 90% of them start to buy his personal item and start to play at least once per week.
In live in Romania in Bucharest city, here we don't have so many special places to play this game, usually we use abandoned building or empty places to make a game scenario and play the game. Sometimes we are 5-10 players, or 50-100 players.
When we are more than 60 people, this sport will be a total war :D
Usually we play team death match, capture the flag, protect the VIP ore defuse the bomb.

It's a lot of fun and this sport it s about communication, to be friendly and also fair play.
Our gun witch are 99-100% after real guns, shoot with plastic ball, with 6mm diameter and weight between 0.2grams to 0.4 grams used by snipers.
Riffle guns and pistols use 0.25 gram ball.
In game we use full protection and respect some rules. It's mandatory to wear eye protections, face protection. For the rest depend on you. People ask if it hurts, that depend on many thinks. First depend the distance from where are you shoot, a sniper will stay at minimum 50 meters, because he use heavy ball and the gun also it's powerful, usually the speed of projectile it's 160 m/s. So at minimum 50 meters you feel nothing, just a little noise at impact. But from 20 meters maybe on naked skin will hurt like crazy, and can penetrate your skin.
Riffle have 90-120 m/s, from 10 meters you will feel the impact, more distance you just feel like a touch and the noise.
Every competition with random people will have a speed test for gun, we measure speed and be sure no one use modified guns, of course if you have a powerful you will shoot more precise. These gun's use battery electricity and a motor to make compressed air.

Next questions, it this sport expensive ? Well.... can be, or not. Depend on you.
For me wasn't more expensive than swimming, cycle, snowboarding or sea sport. It's nice because you can start with minimum equipment, a face mask 5-9$, eye protection 10$ and a gun of course. In my case, first I start with a second hand m4a1 gun, was a bad because was a plastic cheap gun.But at beginning it's good because you learn how to play, the gun cost me 50$. After a while because I learn how to play my gun didn't let me to perform, so I buy a medium quality full metal gun. I pay for it 350$ new from store. These guns can start for 200$ for full metal to 1000$ or more. Depend on gun type, goal and power.
My gun it's from Specna Arms, base on m4 platform, has 120 m/s. What I read on internet and opinion from other players, Specna Arms it's the best for money you pay. Quality it's excellent, good durability and precise to shoot.
Then think start from here, you can personalize your gun, or adapt for different condition, team composition or even the place we play. Like example, when I play in forest, I use woodland camouflage:
For scope in small place I use reddot, cost 20$, for big places, outside I use zoom scope 100$ .
After you have these minimum equipment you can start to play, then you see what you need in future. Camouflage clothes are not so expensive. For example military vest cost about 30$
And I forgot about BB (bullets) we pay for 4000 pcs 10$, at 1 game you spend 1000-2000 BB's
The rest of gear, In buildings, small places with rooms we don't use riffle, it s to powerful. In this case we use hand gun, pistol. These pistol work with CO2 capsule under pressure, these are fun to play, because are like real gun. Noise it's much more powerful and have blow back mechanism, like real gun. Power it's around 80-90 m/s from 5 meter you feel a little bit the shoot.
