I’ve practiced drawing again to participate in the Splinterlands Art Contest Week 295.
My Entry!
The character I chose to draw this week is the Common Water Unit, which is ideal for low mana battles. It’s none other than the Cruel Sethropod unit released under the Chaos Edition Pack.

This unit doesn’t have abilities, but as its level increases, its shield and life also increase.
First, I drew a rough sketch of a lobster because Cruel Sethropod is a lobster.
Gradually, from the rough drawing of the lobster, I made it look like Cruel Sethropod with a round mouth and sharp teeth.
I also drew water for the background to avoid having empty space beside the character.
I colored the inside of the outline with red and overlaid it with many different shades of red, changing the opacity of some to make them blend. I used an airbrush for this and a pen for the dark shadows.
For the water, I stroked various shades of blue and also varied the opacity. I used a watercolor brush for this part.
For the background, I simply drew clouds.
This is my finished artwork.
I’m quite happy with how it turned out and feel that it captures the essence of the Cruel Sethropod. I hope this piece will stand out in the contest.
