A Strange Encounter
Like @captainquack22 a few days ago, this week was my first time encountering Waka Spiritblade. However, I wasn’t as skilled as he was to defeat the newest summoner. Here is a link to his battle by the way!
In my case, I chose to place the Forgotten One at the back of my lineup to counter the Death splinter’s sneak monsters. The Immunity ability allowed it to last by taking hits without being poisoned.
Nevertheless, by doing so, I was purposefully having an extra idle monster with no opportunity to attack the opposition. This can happen from time to time, especially in the Up Close and Personal ruleset.
I was counting on my other monsters to inflict enough damage. The battle started well as Living Lava was able to take the first hit without being poisoned. The Forgotten One was standing its ground and the duo Sand Worm / Tenyii Striker was doing serious damage to Dark Ha’on.
The downturn came when Sand Worm missed the opportunity to take out Dark Ha’on in Round 2. Living Lava and the Radiated Brute got through Cursed Windeku but the thorns brought both down by Round 3. At the same time, the Forgotten One was also taking its last hit.
Sand Worm being pushed to the frontline, there was no more hope of winning. It was Game Over. By Curiosity, I wanted to check if I had any chance at all in this battle. And, it appeared that I had actually a 10% chance of winning, not that bad against an almost $2000 summoner!
