Buying a splinterlands card that I always wanted.

Legendary beta cards.

Whatever happens with splinterlands over the next couple of years one of the basic principles of web3 gaming is the scarcity factor.

There are lots of cards in the game and lots of options when you want to go shopping but the rarest cards come form the earliest versions.

I have some beta cards but they are rare and expensive so put more focus into maxing out chaos and then untamed.

It's more bang for you buck to build a high level deck as they have a lot more copies floating around and low values right now.

This could all change if the userbase grows again but for now they are very plentiful and therefore cheap as we all have a lot of copies already.

What were never cheap were alpha and beta cards since their numbers are a lot more limited. They still aren't cheap but it's the cheapest that i've seen then since the early days. There are a few beta cards that i used to rent, especially in the dragon splinter so when i saw that one of them was for sale at a reasonable price i couldn't pass up the chance to own a card with less than 1000 copies and that does serious damage.

Lightening Dragon.

  • Cards: C1-57-5CZ5EK2CZ4
  • Prices: $52.165
  • Received: 61749.276 DEC

If the game does recover going forward this will be a bargain as it's so limited. I always loved the beta dragons and will hopefully be able to stack a few more of them if the prices keep dropping.

They are too sexy not to be buying them up.

No more renting Lightening Dragon for me as I keep bulking up my deck during a bear season. These are the times where money is made.

Buy when the prices are down and take full advantage when the markets recover.

There are a few more that i have my eye on right now so lets see what i can pick up over the month.
