Is Splinterlands a good investment?
My first month
Hello friends,
thirty days have passed since my registration with Splinterlands.
I consider Splinterlands a great investment and for this reason every fifteen days I will do an assessment post about Splinterland not as a game but as a pure investment.
Break even point
Splinterlands has an initial cost of 10 dollars and for this reason it is important to first evaluate the time needed to reach the break-even point.
In fact the break-even point is by definition the point where costs and revenues have the same value and therefore the profit is worth 0.
To calculate the time needed to reach the break-even point we need some data.
Costs vs Rewards
Initial cost
The initial cost ($ 10) is the cost incurred to purchase the Starter Set (30 delegate cards).
The moment I write this post, a STEEM is worth $ 0.12 so:

Splinterlands has two types of rewards: DEC and Cards.
CARDS
In one month of play I got a total of 57 cards:
- 27 cards - Two-season rewards
- 30 cards - Rewards of daily missions
How much are my cards worth?
To quickly calculate the value of my cards I use the Peakmonsters website

DEC
The DEC are the Dark Energy Crystals.
The DEC are obtained in two ways:
- winning a battle.
- converting a card
Important Note: Remember that you can sell and convert all cards except the initial 30 cards.
How many DEC have I gained from battles?
DEC obtained from battles: 718
Now we have all the data we need to be able to do some calculations.
What is the ROI of my first month of play on Splinterlands?
In 30 days I earned a total of 2578 DEC.
DEC can be sold and purchased on Steem Engine.
The moment I write this post the STEEM value of a DEC is 0.00651 STEEM.
As you can see from the screenshot above if I sell all DEC I get 16,78 STEEM (about)
The initial cost was around 83.
Consequently here is the ROI (Return on Investment):
Playing Splinterlands I recovered 20,14% of the initial cost in 30 days.
How long does it take to reach the break-even point?
5 months
According to the data collected it takes just under 5 months to reach the break-even point.
The time has increased compared to the forecast of the post 15 days ago for the following reasons:
the value of STEEM has fallen and consequently the value in STEEM of the initial cost has increased.
The last end-of-season reward was really small in value.
However I remain convinced of my prediction, in four months I will have recovered 100% of the registration fee and then they will only be gains.
Not registered with Splinterlands yet?
Splinterlands is a beautiful game but it is above all a great investment (my personal opinion).
Obviously I don't have the crystal ball but I think it's a game / investment that can still grow a lot.
It is the game that has the greatest potential on Steem's blockchain.

sono passati trenta giorni dalla mia iscrizione a Splinterlands.
Considero Splinterlands un ottimo investimento e per questo motivo ogni quindici giorni farò un post di valutazione di Splinterland non come gioco ma come puro investimento.
Punto di pareggio (Break even point)
Splinterlands ha un costo iniziale di 10 dollari e per questo motivo è importante innanzitutto valutare il tempo necessario per arrivare al punto di pareggio.
Infatti il punto di pareggio è per definizione il punto in cui costi e ricavi hanno lo stesso valore e quindi il profitto vale esattamente 0.
Una volta raggiunto il punto di pareggio, tutte le ricompense successive saranno tutte oarte del profitto.
Per calcolare il tempo necessario per arrivare al punto di pareggio abbiamo bisogno di alcuni dati.

Il costo iniziale (10 dollari) è il costo sostenuto per acquistare lo Starter Set (30 carte in delega).
Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post uno STEEM vale 0,12 $ per cui:

Quanto tempo è necessario per raggiungere il punto di pareggio?
5 mesi
Secondo i dati raccolti sono necessari poco meno di 5 mesi per raggiungere il punto di pareggio.
Il tempo è aumentato rispetto alla previsione del post di 15 giorni fa per i seguenti motivi:
il valore di STEEM è sceso e di conseguenza è aumentato il valore in STEEM del costo iniziale.
L'ultima ricompensa di fine stagione è stata davvero piccola di valore.
Rimango comunque convinto della mia previsione, in quattro mesi avrò recuperato il 100% del costo d'iscrizione e poi saranno solo guadagni.
Non sei ancora registrato a Splinterlands?
Splinterlands è un bellissimo gioco ma è soprattutto un ottimo investimento (mio personale parere).
Ovviamente non ho la sfera di cristallo ma secondo me è un gioco/investimento che può crescere ancora molto.
E' il gioco che ha il maggiore potenziale sulla blockchain di Steem e non solo...
