Share Your Battle, Weekly Challenge, Mastering the Pizza Shift!

This time around it is a Master of the Temporal, so they can take that Pizza, and make it just as hot as when it first came out of the oven, granted they also can do other things, but the ooey gooey pizza is awesome!

Starting off, my Light Splinter goes heavy with ranged attacks, but sometimes having that magic in there, really does help, the Temporal Master is one of those cards.

This one is on the cheaper side with the mana cost of only 3, 1 magic damage, 2 speed and 2 health, nothing really stands out too much, a downside is Recharge, which means they will be attacking only every other round, however, it does do 3 times the damage!

Before we get to the battle, let’s look at the history and the lore that has been written about the Temporal Master by Splinterlands.com lore team:

The horologe node is the first focus. The annulus scepter the second. But to ascend to the highest levels of the craft the anachron time mage must abandon talismans and operate by mind alone. For the rare adept blessed by visions of the turning wheel they can shift the flow of siphilum in time's flow by sheer force of will.

It is these Temporal Masters that advised the great council until the highest in their order, the High Magus Obin Anvaras, betrayed them. Those that remain hunger for a chance to reknit time and erase the chaos heresy that brought the Legion to the Splinterlands.
“Nodes? Where we’re going, We don’t need nodes.”

The battle that we are examining for this is a low mid mana, 25, this is in Modern Silver League:
Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic Attack Monsters have the Snipe Ability
Reverse Speed: Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks

These rules can kind of work for the Temporal Master, a quick snipe to knock someone out, but the two speed is also nice..

Here is the quick link to the battle: (Link) however, I will break it down, then you might want to watch again.

First up, the Summoner:

I went with Sloan due to adding the ranged damage, figuring the additional damage can help break through the enemy defenses, and really help to bring the ranged damage to the table.

I put the shield bearer upfront on this one, with the taunt ability it takes away that sniper aspect so that my ranged monsters can stay alive long, a very important thing to have!

This one is kind of the throwaway card, once the Shieldbearer falls, this one is here to take hit to allow the cards behind it to do more damage.

Next came the card of the hour, the Temporal Master:

I have this card here for a couple of reasons, it should last until round 2, which gives it that 3 magic damage, which is important, but also to take that first snipe hit to keep the healer and the big damage dealer alive.

Next up comes an awesome card from the Chaos Legion set with the Light Splinter, well technically the reward set and attached to the Chaos Legion set:

The crystal smith is amazing, the three speed is helpful, but then the 2 ranged damage due to sloan, followed by 3 health, it will stick around, the big part though, the tank heal ability, to keep the Shieldbearer in the game longer!

Lastly, the Pelacor Arbalest

Paired with Sloan the 3 damage, attacking twice, so a potential of 6 damage is a great thing, I placed him in the back to maximize the damage output and protect it from the snipers that may come.

Did my strategy work, very much so! My Shieldbearer stayed alive long enough for the temporal master to get a hit on the chaos knight, doing 3 damage which helped to kill it so that I could win easier, without that magic hit, I would have lost. Then the placement of the cards worked really well in that it allowed the Arbalest to do maximum damage, which gave me the win!

The Temporal Master is a situational card due to the Recharge ability, I do like to use it in the basic rules set due to the low mana and attacking every round then, so I would suggest it for that reason alone that it is worth the low cost.

Overall, this was a really good battle for me, and when you are watching a battle, you always need some Pizza! If you are looking for a great area of Positivity along with a great community, com join the Pizza Family!
