Splinterlands - Best Bronze Rentals

THUMBNAIL.png

Hello everyone! 😄

If you are new and confused about what cards you should rent and don’t want to invest buying them before you are sure it is worth it, this is the guide for you! I’ll stick with 5 cards for each Splinter and split in two posts.

I'll focus on Bronze League + Modern Format (Reward/Dice/Untamed/Chaos Legion)!

A few thoughts that are important to have in mind while you are building (even renting) a Deck.

  • Diversify the mana cost of your monsters, because the deck needs to be Strong in all types of Mana Cap (Low-Medium-High) and Attack Type (Melee, Range, Magic)
  • A Deck that can perform well in multiple rule sets, such as: Earthquake, Noxious Fumes, Reverse Speed etc.
  • Since we need a versatile Deck, we want to have a good tank/support monsters with High and Low mana. For example: Antoid Platoon (4 Mana Cost) and Magnor (10 Mana Cost)

Fire Splinter

Scorch Fiend: 0 mana cost being a good filler for position 1,2 or 6 especially in low mana matches to take damage against Monsters with Snipe/Sneak/Opportunity Ability.

Fineas Rage: since he has Reach ability, he is a very good choice for position with Living Lava/Forgotten One/Antoid Platoon on 1st position.

Forgotten One: he is perfect for Noxious Fumes battle. You can put a tank like Living Lava + Scavo Chemist (for Cleanse ability) and Forgotten one on 2nd position.

Magnor or Grum The Flameblade: it is up to you which one to pick. In my opinion Magnor will be more useful in most of the rule sets and it cost 1 less Mana. But Grum is almost unstoppable on Reverse Speed since the low speed is his weakness.

Tusk the Wide: one of the Fire Deck weakness is Magic Damage because the Summoners or the units doesn’t counter them with Void, Void Armor or Magic Reflect taking Full Damage. For this reason Tusk the Wide is an option to tank against Obsidian/Alric + Heavy Magic Damage strategy, tanking with 13 HP (12+1 of Tarsa) while the monsters with Sneak (Kobold Miner/Tenyii Striker) and Opportunity (Serpentine Spy) kill the backliners.

Water Splinter

Sea Monster: he is a good tank with Heal ability. Works well on Low mana and on Noxious Fumes rule set. With Kelya Frendul gets a buff of +1 Speed/ Armor.

Torhilo The Frozen: a must have to counter Obsidian/Alric+Heavy Magic Team. Put him with Bortus and you won’t have a problem with Mages.

Djinn Oshannus: even without Alric Stormbringer he is very versatile and intuitive when to use. Good against Mages (Void Ability) and medium-high Mana Cap matches.

Venari Wavesmith: she is versatile and very good on Earthquake/Explosive Weaponry rule sets making your monsters to survive a little bit longer.

Axe Master: very good in matches with 20 Mana+. He has one of the best abilities in the game: Double Strike.

Earth.png

Earth Splinter

Queen Mycelia: a must have in Earth Deck, the +2 armor allow the mages (Goblin Psychic, Khmer Princess etc.) to survive a little longer.

Mylor Crowling: it’s good to have a 2nd option of summoner to not be predictable and easily countered. It is almost an instant win on Up Close and Personal Rule Set. Very Strong against Fire and Water Deck.

Mushroom Seer: on a mirror match this monster probably will be decisive piece. It is also a good conter against Alric Stormbringer (Water Team).

Wood Nymph: allows you to do double healing strategy with Goblin Psychic and Unicorn Mustang as a Tank. On low mana she can substitute Goblin Psychic since it costs only 4 Mana x 6 Mana (Goblin).

Brownie: it costs only one mana, but it will increase the speed of all friendly monters. He is useful because the main weakness of mages is the slow speed! Sometimes your tank will die because the healer is too slow!
