Lessons From the Epic Mahabharata: Part 1

The Mahabharata is one of the two most popular Epic ever written . Some may call it a fiction writing as it doesn't have proper evidence to be declared as history. The western belief of classifying history is- something that has been researched, analysed and built on proofs. While there are many historical buildings, locations, artifacts to back up the existence of that period. But Mahabharata is not like your usual history. It is not just a story with facts and figures of some people.

The Mahabharata is my story, it is your story, it is everyone's story around us. Every character, incident and interaction described through the epic are the living vibrations of the human society. You don't see the characters in the story as someone else, through attentive reading, you will find connection, relevance and insight to your own life.
There's a saying in India about the Mahabharata,

"If it is not here, it is no where. If it is here, it might be somewhere"

Whatever situations we find in the Mahabharata, exists in the society today. If some situations aren't found in the epic, that can relate to some incident, chances are, it might haven't occurred. The reason for saying that is, the entire epic was written in the spirit that it will always stay relevant no matter what the decade is.

Through the upcoming posts in this series, I'll share stories and incidents of the Mahabharata. We can have a discussion in the comments below of how situations like that are still relevant.
