Śatakanta Ravana manifests into innumerable Śatakanta Ravanas and attacks Rama’s army. Unable to withstand this attack, everyone including Rama is rendered unconscious. Mother Sita panics. Maharishi Garga then appears and initiates her into the sacred mantra for invoking the five-faced Hanuman.
