Saludos y bendecido día queridos amigos, hoy quiero mostrarle una pequeña reseña de una importante persona en mi vida ya que es hermano de mi padre y a representado esta figura hasta el sol de hoy, además de gran importancia para nuestro estado Sucre ya que es una de las glorias deportistas que han llevado el nombre de nuestro querido país y sobretodo de nuestra ciudad en alto. Es un personaje que con humildad visión de lograr su sueño y perseverancia ha conseguido el apoyo y admiración de muchos.
Greetings and blessed day dear friends, today I want to show you a small review of an important person in my life since he is my father's brother and has represented this figure to this day, in addition to great importance for our state Sucre since it is one of the sporting glories that have carried the name of our beloved country and, above all, of our city high. No es más que Luis Jiménez unos de los héroes de Portland, Nació un 21 de enero de 1962, en Cumaná, estado Sucre. Hijo de Luis Jiménez y Josefina Guevara. Desde muy pequeño se sintió identificado con este deporte como el básquet como muchos niños de su comunidad. Sus inicios fueron en la plaza Bermúdez con entrenamientos callejeros a partir de los 13 años hasta que ingresó al liceo Cruz Salmerón Acosta a estudiar y el profesor Marcano ve su estatura y el potencial y lo pone a jugar con la selección del liceo. Tuvo un ascenso que comenzó en el campeonato 26/10 en el ultimo año infantil y empieza en la selección juvenil del estado Sucre a los 16 años. Pertenecía a la 1era categoría de la selección de sucre en los juegos nacionales.
Posteriormente Celestino Aellos me hace la invitación para ir a probarse con el equipo Pantera de Lara BBC , con un buen ascenso siendo un joven que venia del estado sucre para entrar en el primer año logrando el subcampeonato. En el año de 1983 logro su primer campeonato especial Panteras de Lara BBC derrotando al equipo gaiteros de Zulia BBC ese mismo año contrae matrimonio con Zully añez y permanece en el club hasta el año de 1985. Ese mismo año es cambiado con el equipo trotamundos de Carabobo y logran el II campeonato de la liga especial de baloncesto y nace su primogénito.

Participó en la selección de vzla en el primer mundial efectuado en argentina obteniendo el lugar nro 11 ademas participa en el suramericano de mayores de naciones obteniendo por primera vez en el campeonato para vzla derrotando a la selección Brasil en la final.

En el año 91 participa en los juegos panamericanos de la habana cuba, Año 92 se jugó el campeonato preolímpico en la ciudad de Portlad EEUU obteniendo el 2do lugar en la final frente al Dream Team como algunos de ellos Michael Jordan,Scottie Pippen,Davis Robinson, Magic Jhonson ,entre otros, obteniendo por primera vez el pase a una olimpiada Barcelona España 1992 la selección de Venezuela en este mismo año es cambiado de Trotamundos de Carabobo a Gaiterosdel Zulia donde permanece en el año 92 y 93.

En el 95 intentó regresar pero no se siente bien y decide retirarse y hasta aquí es su historia.
En el año 2022 le hacen un homenaje y condecorado a los 12 héroes de Portland.
