How to throw a stone into space

First of all, what is space ?
Is it this ?

Or this

Or maybe this

Well, I am here to show you different approaches to this question; there are different ways of defining "space", one of those definition says: space is the dimensions of height, depth, and width within which all things exist and MOVE.

image

If we take that as the definition, throwing a stone into space it's totally meaningless, because it'd be already into space, the earth would count as "space" and so would do the stone, the stone itself would be considered space since It has three dimensions of space but the stone is solid therefore it does not move, right?

image

Well, not precisely because the stone is made out of molecules, those molecules even tho they do not move freely like molecules of water do, they are connected with the neighboring molecules, like if all the molecules where hugging each other.

image

The molecules in a solid even tho they are connected with other molecules, they vibrate, like when some animals are cold and start shaking, imagine you go to Iceland and get into the ocean at 6 am in the morning, most people would be shaking ( vibrating ). but if you look at them from the distance, let's say a mile, they would look as if they were not moving. It's the same with molecules even tho a solid looks static it is actually vibrating.

image

We can feel the vibration in objects, it's called heat, the vibration within the stone create friction which becomes heat.

image

The hotter it is, the more vibration his molecules have.
What do you think happens when molecules do not vibrate at all ?

image

If molecules stop vibrating that means that they are extremely cold, but it can get even colder, the coldest temperature in the universe is absolute zero ( 0Ā° absolute ) and it is found when even the atoms within the molecules reach their minimal vibrational motion

image

In conclusion trying to throw a stone into space it's totally meaningless since the stone is already into space.

If that answer does not satisfied you; you could also try to accelerate the stone so it reaches scape velocity of 40,270 km/h (25,020 mph) throw it up as perpendicular from the ground as possible and you should be able to put that beautiful rock into low earth orbit.

Good luck with that.

Leave a comment and an up vote, if you came in just to see if throwing a stone into space was possible and ended up learning about thermodynamics. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
