VIDEO: NASA's New Horizons Flyover of PLUTO

NASA has released a breathtaking video showcasing the notoriously distant planet.

This remarkable composite video, culled from data obtained during the 2015 study of Pluto by NASA's New Horizon spacecraft, provides viewers with the perspective of flying over the planet from around 8,000 miles above its surface. Pluto, at its furthest point from Earth, sits an astounding 4.60 billion miles away.

This video constitutes what is probably the only view of Pluto's surface that many of us will see in our lifetimes, since it's highly unlikely that humans will make their way out to the distant planet anytime soon.

That said, based on the barren and seemingly unforgiving landscape of the planet, I'm not sure anyone on Earth would really want to visit the faraway world anyway....unless they figure out that valuable minerals exist!
