A Break from the Daily Grind.

Back home again after a pleasant break in Amanzimtoti. How soon we fall into routine, with one day following the next in endless succession. We are truly creatures of habit. It’s so easy for our lives to become regimented. Soon the days pass by in a blur one day fading into the next.

What a surprise and pleasure when a good friend of mine invited us to a week at the coast, he had won a holiday on a radio competition so none of us were expecting it. To escape from the daily humdrum for a week was a treat.

One week of exploring up and down the coast, unfortunately it was too cold to swim. Good seafood, pleasant clean accommodation, just one black spot, I left all my clothes at home, my suitcase forgotten just inside the door of my house. It meant buying a few shirts, underclothes etc., my friend reminded me that at 69 I suffer from the CRAFT syndrome, “Can’t remember a flipping thing”.

On the whole a good time was had by all. We had to keep an eye on the Vervet monkeys who kept a good watch on us, trying their best to find some food to steal. One youngster even peered around the door but ran off with alarm when he saw us watching him.

Like all good things holidays have to end so here we are rejuvenated and refreshed and posting on Steemit.
