Soundtrack Sunday - "The Crow"

Today's #soundtracksunday is focusing on the movie The Crow. As many people know, this was Brandon Lee's last movie, as he passed away during the filming of this movie, which should have been his breakthrough performance, skyrocketing his career.

The soundtrack offers a variety of music from alternative rock, heavy metal, grunge, gothic and industrial music. It's quite a combination and I am going to try to showcase quite a few hoping to cover at least one from as many genres as possible without using the entire soundtrack. So let's get this #soundtracksunday started!

1.Burn by The Cure. Recently nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Cure has been a longstanding favorite band of mine, so it's no surprise they made my list for today's post. For those that have seen the movie, do you remember which scene this was played in?

2.Dead Souls as performed by Nine Inch Nails. I believe this is actually a cover that was done by Joy Division, but I could be mistaken. Either way, Nine Inch Nails is known for their Industrial-style of music and Trent Reznor's vocals on Dead Souls proves that he can sing from soft-spoken to going almost full on rage in a single song.

3.Big Empty by Stone Temple Pilots. Scott Weiland did a great job with the vocals on this song. It was probably one of the bigger hits from the soundtrack and gave the band a great stepping stone to an already great career path they were on at the time the soundtrack was released.

That about does it for today's soundtrack because as stated before, I literally could list almost the entire soundtrack for this one. I wore my cassette tape out twice when this came out and finally bought the cd when cd's started to become a thing.
