It is reported that the Chilean boss has agreed terms on a contract worth £7million-a-year over the weekend with The Irons.

The 64-year old boss will take over from David Moyes, who announced that he will be leaving West Ham 5 days ago, after just 6 months in charge.

It is understood that Pellegrini was on a 4-man shortlist at West Ham, along with Rafa Benitez who was rumoured to be The Hammers 1st choice, former PSG gaffer Unai Emery and current Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca.

The Hammers will give him full control over transfers and they are hoping that his arrival would convince wantaway players such as Mexican striker Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini, to stay on.

Pellegrini obviously already has invalueable Premier League experience after managing Man.City between 2013-2016, winning the league title in his 1st season in charge.

The Chilean was the boss of Chinese Super League side Hebel China Fortune before his resignation 2 days ago, and he was previously also in charge of Villareal, Real Marid , Malaga & Man.City, plus a host of sides in his native Argentina.

He will be one of the best paid managers in the Premier League, surprisingly earning the same as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and even more than Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, who reportedly earns just £5.5m yearly.
