Liverpool's boss Jurgen Klopp has been on the lookout for a replacement for their former superstar Phillipe Coutinho since his £142m January move to Barcelona, and now it appears he has finally found his man.

The Reds have coped very well without the Brazillian magician, as Mo Salah continued with his sensational debut campaign and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain stepped up in the Brazillian's absence, but Klopp still wants a world-class replacement and French media outlet RMC, is claiming that the Reds have struck a deal thought to be in the region of £62m with the Ligue 1 side.

According to the same reports, former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier has played a part in the deal, as he holds a role as an advisor to Jean-Michel Aulas, Lyon's president.

The reports claim that Houllier travelled to England a few weeks ago to help the two clubs in question conclude a deal for the French international midfielder.

If the deal does go through he'll be Liverpool's second arrival this summer after they have already sealed the transfer of star midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.

The 24-year-old has had another impressive campaign with the French giants this season scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 7 in 38 matches in all competitions.

The Reds only have one Premier League game remaining this season before their big Uefa Champions League final tie against Real Madrid on the 26th of this month.
