In order to stay competitive and in the ring with the big players who have taken Snapchats technologies the company has decided to overhaul their platform. As an author of this article I can even vouch that I tried the Snapchat app and was easily turned off by the user interface, found it not to be user friendly.
They have not made an announcement to their community of user who use the app yet. This new remake of the application could piss off its current users or it could make the company gain more users. I learned recently that when Snapchat even set off their IPO they even had to send a manual along with it at their filing. They could lose their customer user base, but they are betting that the new changes could bring in more users.
