The Islamic Center is a new icon of the city of Lhokseumawe, a city of about 200,000 inhabitants. The mosque was first built by the North Aceh district government when Lhokseumawe was not yet an autonomous region and still the capital of North Aceh district. Since a few years ago, this mosque is managed and continued its development by the Lhokseumawe Municipal Government.
