Last week Friday I went to Ponte City in Hillbrow to spend some time with Braveman Moyo who in conjunction with NGO Dlala Nje is teaching children from central Johannesburg how to skateboard in the basement of this iconic building.
The skateboarding project is only two months old and already has over 50 registered children taking part in this free activity, unfortunately they only have 10 skateboards, limited helmets and no protective pads for the children. Braveman is doing fantastic work with the children and hopes to build a skate park in the basement of the Ponte Towers in the near future.
