One tired little boy.jpg

It's getting harder and harder to come up with posts to write since I don't really do anything but sit at my computer most of the day. I decided to write one of my "nothing" posts today. Just a post about nothing in particular, just some rambling and interesting things sometimes come out.

It's raining again today. It seems to rain everyday now. I have not been checking that, but it sure seems so. My cousin in Connecticut tells me that it has not rained there in weeks. That hardly seems fair, but nothing I can do to change it, so we will both have to live with it.

It's about 10:30 am now. I'm eating grapes. The seedless red grapes. Those are my favorite grapes. I'm trying not to eat anything before at least 11:00, but I don't count grapes as eating.

The rain stopped. Lots of sunshine out there now.

I had a pain in my chest a few minutes ago. It felt like heartburn. I took about 3 tablespoons of Pepto Bismol and it went away within a couple of minutes. That liquid Pepto is the only thing that works for me and my heartburn.

Today is Wednesday so I will be going to Mango in about an hour. I ordered food there today. I ordered the hamburger he developed from the things I like on a burger. "The Cowboy" is the name of it. Double meat, 2 types of cheese, lots of grilled onions, bar-b-q sauce and bacon. He also added some hash browns. That's fine. I love hash browns and they are good enough on the burger although I normally do not have that. I do normally have jalapenos on my burger but that are hard to come by and sometimes not available, so he didn't put them on as a permanent thing. It's fine. If I remember on the way out the door, I'll get 3 jalapenos from our refrigerator and bring those to add to the burger. One of those and a couple of beers and I'll not be hungry for hours and hours.

Thunder.

I guess I'll have to bring my umbrella when I go to Mango. Even with the umbrella, if it's raining hard, I will not walk home in it. If it's only sprinkling, then I'll walk home. The umbrella doesn't do too well when the wind is blowing the rain in all different directions.

If it stops raining long enough, they should finish the staircase this week and I will be able to go back into the room upstairs and open a window or two to get air in there. I wonder if that a/c is hooked up in there yet? I'm really looking forward to showing the movies up there. Getting people to show up will be the trick. Any ideas on how I can attract movie goers?

I have 4 fantasy football teams this year and this past week (Week 9), I won 3 of them. The one I did lose, I didn't lose by much, but it's head-to-head so they don't care that I score the 2nd highest number of points. It just so happens that the guy that scored the highest number of points was the one playing against me that week. Oh well, that happens often enough in fantasy football.

I never did go by and pick up the ACR cards. Maybe I should do that now, before heading to Mango. I guess I need to get them, but we don't really need them. If they didn't make me get them when we got the extensions, I would not have gotten them.

Maybe when I go walking in the morning, I'll just walk to the Immigration Office and wait there for them to open. I might have to wait 2 or 3 hours though because I'm not sure what time they open. Maybe in my next post I'll say something about whether I finally got them or not.

I suppose that's enough rambling for now. I think it was nothing too exciting, but I did get up to around 700 words.

I hope you enjoyed reading what I wrote. I hope to see you next time.

THE Texan in the Philippines.jpg

Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
